Republic day in Swanthana

Just as all Indians celebrate Republic Day we too at Swanthana celebrate Republic Day with great enthusiasm and joy. In preparation for the occasion the girls drew and colored the national flag and learnt what the three colors of the flag signify.

Saffron for sacrifice ,White for peace and Green for prosperity. Though these might big words for our little girls but they were so happy to learn new words and new ideas. On the 23rd January we taught them the words and patriotic melody of ‘jhanda uncha rahein hamara’, and in within three days they had learnt the tune and words and soon we had got the song with actions for the girls who did not have speech. All synchronized perfectly !

On the 26th morning the girls were all ready enthusiastically for the flag hoisting and after singing our national anthem they did their action song, ‘ jhanda uncha rahein hamara’ proudly.

Freedom means many things to different people, but at Swanthana it means to be free from our fears of being different and continue to strive to do our best in whatever we do.

Above all to be felt inclusive part of our great nation.

“Jai Hind”!
